Malaysia in the Religious Spotlight

If you Google "Lina Joy", you will know what I mean. The case of the Malay girl who converted to Christian and is trying to change her religious status to Christianity so that she can marry another Christian has caught the world's attention.

High Court decision is about to come out one of these days, on whether she is allowed to do so or not. To say "Yes" would cause an uproar with the Muslims of this nation. There will be strikes, persecution of those who intend to renounce Islam and well... unrest. To say "No" would be a really ridiculous thing because a law can't force you to say you are something you are. But to say "No" is also the easier way out with less violence.

Let's see what the High Court has to say.
